Forgetting Someone

Forgetting someone is like forgetting to turn off the light in the backyard so it stays lit all the next day
But then it is the light that makes you remember.

How many more?

One of my cousin's passed away this weekend. I honestly didn't know her that well. She just turned 56 so she was quite a bit older than I am. She died of cancer. The horrible, wretched disease that has taken so many of my family away from me. I hate it.

I plan on going to the funeral, which is on Thursday, which is also my birthday. At work today some of the girls and I were talking about funerals and I realized that I've been to way too many this year. I didn't go to two of these because it was during the time that my sister was so sick, but this is the list of people who have passed.

The list for this year:

A Co-worker's wife - Breast Cancer

Bo Johnson - Cancer

Kathy Tollett - My sister. Feb. 13th. - Cancer

Jakki's Grandmother -Not sure of cause, except perhaps age.

Rob's father - sudden heart attack

Rob's wife - private tragedy

And now my cousin.

Honestly, I'm ready for some good news, some good things to happen. Seriously.

I want to write but...

I want to write about the last month, but I don't quite have the energy to do it yet. All I can say right now is that I am tired. I feel like I've been worked down the very core of my being and I have nothing left to give right now. I have no motivation, no spark of energy or interest. I know that's probably just a part of the greiving process, but I can't help it right now. It's just where I am.

I feel like I haven't even really begun to process Kathy's death yet. I feel numb and like I'm in a limbo state of mind.

Just going to take it one day at a time. I guess that's about the only thing I can do right now.

I think I found the cure for grease stains

So the other day I was eating a taco and it was kind of greasy and I got some grease on my shirt. Ugh. The bad thing was that I did not realize it until later. A set in grease stain sucks, right. So I washed the shirt, but the stain did not come out completey. Darn, another shirt ruined. Yesterday, I Googled "How to get rid of grease stains" and something unexpected came up. TONS of people said to pour BABY POWDER on the stain and let it sit on the spot for at least 12 hours.

Baby powder?? What? Okay, well, I have baby powder at home and so I figured it wouldn't hurt to try. Last night I layed the shirt out, grabbed the powder and put some on. I just used enough to cover the spot well, it wasn't a huge pile. I let it sit on there overnight and then I brused the powder off this morning. I wish I had a before and after picture, but I didn't think of it until now.

Even after just brushing the powder off, it looked like the stain was gone. I washed the shirt and hung it up to air dry. (Don't want it to shrink) It's not completely dry yet, but I keep checking on it and so far it looks like the stain is completely gone! Awesome!

If you try it let me know if it worked for you.
